For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him will not perish but have everlasting life.

John 3:16

Statement of Faith

1. We believe that the Bible is divinely inspired, and is the complete, final and authoritative revelation of God to man and therefore it is to be received, believed and obeyed because it is the Word of God.

ii. We believe that the Bible is made up of the sixty-six books of the Old Testament and New Testament, and that the Bible contains the whole counsel of God concerning all things necessary for His own glory, man’s salvation, faith, and life.

iii. We believe that there is one God eternally existent in three persons – God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

iv. We believe that God is the Creator of Heaven and earth.

v. We believe that God sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, into the world that He made, born of a virgin and through His sacrifice on the cross at Calvary, paid the price of redemption for all; that He was buried, that He rose again from the dead on the third day and that He ascended into Heaven.

vi. We believe that man (male and female) was created after God’s own image and that he sinned and fell from innocence and was punished by God so that man after the Fall is born with a sinful nature. Our sin separates us from a righteous and holy God. The consequence of sin is death, rendering us powerless to make peace with God.

vii. We believe that we cannot keep the law nor by our best works, merit pardon of sin, or eternal life, and that our ability to do good works is not at all of ourselves, but wholly from the Spirit of Christ, who works in us to will and to do of his good pleasure. Nevertheless, the Scriptures tell us that neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God, and that the fruits and evidences of a true and lively faith are good works such as are commanded in God’s word, and which are done in obedience to God’s commandments.

viii. We believe man is eternally freed from God’s condemnation of sin by accepting, through faith, the atonement that the Lord Jesus Christ made at Calvary.

ix. We believe in baptism by water immersion, upon repentance and personal confession of the Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour.

x. We believe that marriage is only between a man and a woman.

xi. We believe that the universal Church, referred to as the body of Christ, is invisible and is composed of all persons who have been, are, or shall be gathered into one under Christ the head of the Church; so that those who truly believe on Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour are added to the Church.

xii. We believe the Lord commissioned His church to make disciples of all the nations. The means for accomplishing this are the preaching of the gospel, baptism, and the teaching of obedience to the commandments of Christ.

xiii. We believe that Scripture instructs believers to join themselves to a local church that is made up of those who profess belief in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.

xiv. We believe Scripture has set out principles for the organization, order and discipline of the local Church.

xv. We believe in the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ for His Church.
